Hellooooo!!!!!
Merry Christmas Everyone!
So sorry I have been so absent from my blog. So much has been going on! We moved to a new home and have not had internet. The internet I do have now is AOL which is dialup and WOW is it SLOW!!! I am pretty sure the fact that it is on my old laptop which was already slow has something to do with it but for some reason I can't connect on my desktop. It just keeps saying there is no dial tone and when it's plugged in, it knocks out my phone. I don't know. Any suggestions?
Not only did we move but we also decided to take a break from school. We have taken the whole month of December off. We're still doing some Christmas activities but nothing major. I will post our next one. I also have had no camera :-( I have not been able to find the correct cord to my camera in order to upload the pictures onto my old ancient laptop that is runninglike snail mail it's soooo stinking slow!
I have some recipes I've been playing with and would like to share. I can't wait to get real internet...LOL
The new house is WONDERFUL! I absolutely love it. It is so vintage, it was built in 1953 and still feels very fifties! It has kept me busier though still have some boxes to unpack and trying to figure out where to put the school center. There is a little nook in our living room that I'm thinking of using. I wanted to use the spare bedroom but I didn't like the thought of being cooped up in one room in the house. I am thinking if I put them in the "nook" we can still be all together and not cramped into a space and secluded from the rest of the house. I'll post pictures when I can.
I hope everyone is having a great Christmas! I'm gearing up, this year has been different for us as we haven't been so focused on Santa and presents and I must say it has been a lot less stress! We're still going to let the boys open presents under the tree because it is fun and they look forward to it but I've also been explaining that Christmas is about Jesus...not Santa. They're little so they're having fun but H is loving learning more about Jesus, he's so funny I love him so much!
Well that is all for now! I'm so happy to have finally been able to get on my blog!
God Bless!

Making Your Home A Haven Week 2
I am writing this from my phone as we do not have internet service right now.
Week 1 of the challenge went ok. Besides the fact I got my candle privileges revoked when I left them burning while we werent home. It went pretty good. I usually have a candle burning in my kitchen but adding the prayer was really nice. I have been praying alot more recently.
Week 2's challenge is well a challenge. I have been working on my patience and my harshness for a long time its something i struggle with. I am a product of the environment i was raised in you could say. So in addition to cooling my temper and working on myself i will be lighting candles and praying.
I have even started a prayer journal which I am really excited about.
I hope I get my internet back soon. And you can check out the challenge on the Women Living Well blog. I would post the button but I am on my phone. :(
Thanks for stopping by!

Making My Home A Haven Challenge Week 1
It is week 1 of the Making Your Home a Haven Fall Challenge. Here is this week's challenge: Go buy an extra large candle and light a candle everyday in your home. I will be starting mine in the morning! But you can start yours at dinner time. Do what makes sense for your family. I will be placing mine in the kitchen - the main hub of my home. Each time the candle catches your eye, say a prayer for peace in your home.
I am participating in the Making Your Home a Haven challenge. Week 1 says to light a candle everyday and pray for peace in your home every time it catches your eye.
I've got my candle lit in the kitchen on the counter. It's a good smelling candle too. :-)
Reading Courtney's post this morning I asked myself which home am I in? Home #1 or #2. Realistically I am in Home #1. I so desperately want to live in a home like #2 but it's taking a lot of will power. I am so quickly sucked in by my computer or my phone that I neglect my home and my responsibilities.
Sure there is always a good hot meal on the table and the dishes are always done, but the rest of the house? It's pretty sad. If I spent more time off this computer and phone I'd get a lot more done. Yesterday I started trashing things that were cluttering up my house. Clutter that's what it is.
There is an overload of toys, clothes, and mail in my home. Yeah that's right...mail. I check the mail open what I need to open and leave the rest on the desk. There are piles of mail everywhere. I really need to go through it.
I successfully got rid of a whole lot of toys...so many the boys can actually close their toy box now, next is clothes. I've got a mountain to fold and put away. We went through all the closets, dressers, and storage boxes that haven't been unpacked in...a year!!!! UGH!!!! I definitely don't want all this clutter in the new house so out it goes.
I think my final push of motivation to get this done came yesterday morning. We raced around the house searching for a shoe. He had one on and couldn't find the other one...ANYWHERE! We were late for church and Randy didn't even make it to Sunday School because he couldn't find his shoe. Oh we still haven't found it! I was so angry and frustrated. Not with him but with myself...I took it out on him foolishly. Even though I knew it wasn't his fault and that I should be the one keeping the house in order and having things ready so we don't have to rush around and be late. I was so angry with myself my heart hurt. I was in church crying over the state of my home.
I don't want this anymore, I don't want this kind of chaos and clutter. I want a clean, organized home. So off the computer for me. I'll update on how much I get done today.
Have a blessed day!

Fall Challenge
Starting October 4th, I am going to partcipate in the Making Your Home a Haven Fall 2010 Challenge that Courtney from Womenlivingwell.org is hosting.
I'm excited about this. Right now I am struggling with what my mind knows are my responsibilities and the fact that I have been really really lazy. I don't know what is going on right now but I am just not wanting to do much of anything. Not only is my house a mess but the general atmosphere and attitude in my home has shifted. Granted we are moving in a couple months but I still feel like my house should feel like home while we are living here.
If you are interested in participating with me you can check out her blog. She even has a nice video there of her explaining the challenge. She's so sweet! I'm learning a lot from her posts and her website.
Thanks for stopping by!

Smells So Yummy...
These are the candles I buy:
They are like $6 at the Wal-Mart and they smell so good! They aren't Yankee Candle or Celebrating Home but they are better I think. My favorite scents are the seasonal ones they have out right now. The pumpkin and the cranberry frost...yummy. My pumpkin one has been burning all day long and my house smells like fall. I even have the windows open and I can still smell it.
I really LOVE these Febreeze candles. I suggest everyone try them. You won't be disappointed.
Plus they come in little glass jars and when they're done you can wash them out and use the little jar for something. I have some I use as makeup brush holders and even when I make little individual desserts I use these jars...they're adorable.
I'm ready to bake something now..my candle is making me hungry.
